The University of Exeter’s Contemporary Choir have raised an amazing £1,415 for Young Devon over the past year, by running a mixture of fun and engaging fundraising activities.

The Contemporary Choir is a fun, friendly and inclusive non-auditioned choir which, despite only being founded in 2018, quickly grew to becoming one of the biggest music societies at the University of Exeter. They sing music from a wide range of genres, put on socials for their members and raise money for charity.

This year they chose to raise money for Young Devon, saying that:

“We wanted to support and make a positive impact on other young people living in our local area. We truly love the amazing work and services Young Devon provides for young people, just like ourselves!”

Young Devon was overwhelmed by the support and generosity of the Contemporary Choir. They have worked so hard to fundraise, running activities like cake sales, a Santa run and even creating their own advent calendar.

Young Devon’s staff are so grateful for this exceptional donation and the massive difference it will make for the young people the charity supports. The money will go to helping the many activities the charity engages in to support young people; including helping young people who find themselves without a roof over their heads, or young people who are struggling with their mental health.

A big thank you to the members of Contemporary Choir, from all of us at Young Devon!
