OTHER WAYS TO SUPPORT US
-
Young Devon has to raise £3m every year to deliver everything that it does, but there is much more to it than just the pound notes.
Each year we help over 140 young people to find work experience placements as part of our skills programs, house over 200 young people and deliver over 1000 hours of counselling. So there are many ways that your organisation can help us.
We’d be delighted if you wanted to make a donation. You might want to consider us as your Charity of the Year, or set up a payroll giving scheme that supports our work. But, there are other ways to help that are just as important.
Can we work with you to offer young people work placements?
Would your staff be willing to spend a volunteering day with us to give one of our buildings a bit of TLC?
Could you help us refurbish a bedroom or counselling room with some new furniture or a lick of paint?
Would you be willing to sponsor a young person through leadership training so that they can go on and thrive?
If you can help us to help more young people, please get in touch on 01752 691511 or email us on info@youngdevon.org.

By leaving a gift to Young Devon in your will you will be helping generations of young people across the county.
We look forward to a time when no young person in Devon needs to come to us for help. Last year more than 2000 did and we don’t see that changing any time soon. We will always be there for young people when they need us and your support will mean that we can help more live happier, healthier and safer lives.
Your legacy will be a better, more productive and healthier Devon. A place where young people are valued by the community and become active contributors to the county that we all call home.
Your gift can pay for the counselling staff, our tutors or housing workers. It could refurbish a bed room, refresh a counselling kit or cover a young person’s travel to their work experience. However big or small the amount you choose to leave, it is guaranteed to have a positive impact on a young person’s life.
So after you have taken care of your family and friends, please do consider Young Devon if you have any scope to. Any amount will improve the prospects of a young person.
Whatever your reason for choosing Young Devon you will be changing the odds in favour of young people for years to come.

Payroll giving is a way to make a regular donation to Young Devon in a simple, tax efficient way. You do this through your employer’s Payroll Giving Scheme and if they don’t have one, encourage them to set one up.
All you have to do is authorise your employer to deduct your regular charitable donations from your salary; it’s that simple. Your employer will pay your donations to an approved Payroll Giving Agency who sends the money to the charity (or charities) of your choice.
Your donation comes out of your gross salary (so before you pay tax). So if you pay basic rate tax of 20%, it only costs you £8 to make a £10 donation to Young Devon. And your regular gift helps us plan what we can do with confidence as we know how much money will be coming in every month.
“After being divorced and living on my own, I decided to become a Host and now have two young people staying with me. Hosting gives me the chance to offer a safe, supportive home, share life skills, and be there when they need a listening ear, or just someone to go bowling or to the cinema with. Knowing I can play a vital part in their lives, helping them get back on their feet after difficult circumstances, is incredibly fulfilling. I would definitely recommend becoming a Host.”

“I became a Host after a lot of thought. Hosting young people in my home felt like the best way to make a real difference. What’s most rewarding is spending time together naturally, in a relaxed and comfortable environment, building trust and a positive relationship. Hosting gives young people consistency, stability, and a safe place to grow—and seeing their development over time is incredibly rewarding. I would recommend it to anyone with room to accommodate..”
