Thanks to a generous donation to charity Young Devon, from local business Turnstyle Designs, some young people in North Devon won’t be out in the cold this Christmas.
A young people’s charity in Devon; Young Devon offer services to local vulnerable young people, to help them thrive in their future. Every day, in towns and communities across the county; Young Devon provide counselling and wellbeing support, skills training and employment advice, and accommodation placements for young people at risk of homelessness.
Each night, Young Devon provide over 100 safe beds to young people who have nowhere else to turn, through their Accommodation services.
Now, thanks to a gift from a family-run business based in Barnstaple, Young Devon are able to complete one more property that two young people can call home.

Artisan hardware business, Turnstyle Designs, have donated a considerable amount to Young Devon this winter, to help restore and renovate a spacious two bed apartment in Ilfracombe, North Devon.
As one of the regions largest employers; it’s clear that Turnstyle Designs truly cares about the county of Devon, and those who live in it.
Purchased by the charity, and renovated by Doug Bolton Painters and Decorators to ensure that it is purposefully configured to safely and comfortably support young people; this apartment is now complete, and ready for Young Devon’s Supported Housing service to fill this cold winter season.
Young Devon’s Supported Housing service supports young people at risk of homelessness; placing them in safe accommodation, from shared, fully-staffed houses, to semi-independent apartments with floating support, and helping them develop the skills needed to live independently in the future. Each young resident is allocated their own Key Worker, ensuring there is always someone that they can turn to for support.
Turnstyle Designs’ donation to Young Devon will truly make a difference to many young people in Devon for years to come; providing a home to homeless, and safety and support to scared young people in need.
