Sessional Youth Support Workers (Job Ref 19-02)
Sessional Hours based in Torbay
Salary – £10 per hour
Young Devon is looking to recruit more Sessional Youth Support Workers. This bank could be called upon whenever a role or hours arise that involve supporting young people within the service areas of Young Devon. Please note that we are currently only looking for people able to work in Torbay.
This could involve assisting with the delivery of services that enthuse, motivate and encourage young peoples’ personal and skills development. Roles could involve liaising with other agencies to ensure good working relationships to support young people. Working with the staff team to ensure that all engaged in Young Devon have appropriate support to achieve their specific goals, engaging with parents, carers, host families and communities, and young people to ensure that the needs of young people are met.
The successful candidate will be flexible and adaptable to change, have a good knowledge of current legislation that affects young people in need, and safeguarding, health and safety and risk assessment procedures.They will be enthusiastic, creative, imaginative, positive and a team player, able to adapt to working with a range of individuals and their needs.
Please note that payment for travel will be negotiable dependent on the role. If a role is office-based then travel to that location will not be paid. If the role involves working out in the field then travel will be paid in line with Young Devon policy.
