Dianne joined the Board of Trustees in November 2012. She is a health and care consultant working with clients to find solutions to improve the safety, quality and outcomes of health and social care services. She has a real interest in promoting and improving health and wellbeing within communities and particularly with the young, the elderly and the most vulnerable. Recent work has included a specific review of health services for Looked After Children and care leavers and developing ‘Dementia Friendly’ communities.
As a registered nurse Dianne worked in the NHS for over 25 years in various nursing, management and director roles in Devon and across England. Amongst other services, Dianne has commissioned specific services for; women, children and young people, learning disability, mental health, drugs and alcohol, sexual health and health promotion. She also held key roles within children’s safeguarding arrangements.
Failing the 11+ exam and feeling totally demoralised Dianne used her love of sport and music to build her confidence. This, along with experience in the St John’s Ambulance Brigade, encouraged her to get the qualifications required to train as a nurse and prove you can always continue learning, by securing a masters degree at the age of 40!
Dianne loves live music, running, coastal walking, gardening and spending time chilling with the family.
