Worried a young person you know might soon be homeless?

We can help.

Young Devon has a long track record in both preventing young people from becoming homeless, and, if the worst should happen, finding them short and long term accommodation.  Our homeless prevention team worked with hundreds of young people last year. Young Devon put a roof over the head of almost 200 young people every night through our Supported Lodgings and Supported Housing projects.

If your relationships are breaking down at home and you need to speak to someone, if you are worried about a young person you know or if you would like to help us help some of the county’s most vulnerable young people please contact us.

Supported Lodgings: We will help to house young people in a host family home.

Supported Housing: We will help to house young people in a shared house with other young people, where they will live independently but with the support of our team.

Plan B: Therapeutic project in a supported lodgings setting. Working with young people in a creative and person centred way delivering appropriate therapeutic interventions that widen and challenge the young people's cultural, intellectual, social and physical experiences and develop emotional intelligence, literacy and resilience, to develop life long change and learning.

Advice & Support

counselling 1Straight forward information and support for young people.

Sometimes we all need to talk to someone in confidence. Young people face so many challenges and often feel no one understands them even when they do. Young Devon has been offering impartial advice to young people for over 20 years. Our teams of experienced staff are here to listen, help people navigate the challenges facing them and certainly never judge. For housing advice, we have a specialist team. For sexual health questions, we have a specialist team.  For mental health concerns, we have a team of counsellors available to young people between 11 and 18 across the county and that is extended to 19 to 25 for young people who have been through the care system or those with special educational needs.  For people with caring responsibilities, we have a specialist team.

Whatever you need to talk about contact us and we will be able to help.

Early Help 4 Mental Health

We provide easier access to professional mental health consultation and advice.

Everyone has mental health. Just like physical health, there can be times when things feel good, and times when things can feel difficult.

Mental health can be made worse by many things around us such as exam stress or relationships with others.  It might be, right now, that a young person is finding things difficult. They might be worrying about someone, or perhaps something doesn’t feel right. At Young Devon we want to help.

Please contact us on the links below, and see what we do that might be right for the young person you care for.

Mental health relates to how you feel about yourself, how you feel about what is happening to you, and how you feel about the world around you. You may feel positive, confident and able to cope with life, and at other times feel sad, worried, and that life is a struggle.
