Employment Training With Young Devon

pt team 13 dartmoor 1 copyYoung Devon offer a range of employment training opportunities for 16-25 year olds at various locations across the county. Each course runs for 12 weeks and runs three times a year, but we take applications all year round! All of our courses are free to enrol on and includes free travel to and from home. And when you successfully complete your courses, there is the brilliant incentive of either a free tablet, a provisional driving licence, and a CSCS card to name just three.

On our Prince’s Trust Team program you will develop your leadership, communication and team work skills through practical hands on learning. Get career support and advice to help you get to where you need to be. Complete the programme with a nationally recognised qualification that is valued by employers. 97% of people who take this course pass.

Independent Living Skills is an Entry Level 3 course made up of dynamic and practical sessions. The course is designed to help you develop your skills and knowledge, to help you achieve independence to cofortably live alone and also to become valued members of the community. But don’t just take our word for it here is what Brandon says:

ILS has a 95% pass rate and 96% of people taking the course said that it gave them knowledge and experience they needed.

Our Work-Based Learning Program is a Level 1 course developing employability skills from practical hands-on learning through to work experience with a range of local employers. An eight week work placement in your chosen industry will give you the relevant experience and put you on the path to your career aspirations. During the course, you are also able to complete your Maths an English functional skills if you need to. WBL has a 95% pass rate and 96% of people told us that the course was challenging, worthwhile and that they felt more employable.
