Open to young people from anywhere in the UK, and from any background, the Film Academy offers a real chance for talented young people aged 16 -19 to be part of our future film industry. It includes 57 taught hours outside of school times between October and December, with students gaining access to the BFI alumni and an NCFE level 2 award on completion. The programme is the only one of its kind in Devon and Cornwall. The course fee of £25 can be waived based on learner needs. The course takes a hands-on approach to filmmaking and training through a combination of workshops and practical skills development using industry standard equipment, and learners will be guided through the production of a film as part of a crew. We'll look at everything from pre-production and technical skills to working with actors and collaboration. As project manager, I've lined up an inspiring array of tutors/guest speakers
