Don't miss your chance to vote

heres my vote copyOn June 8th the UK goes to the polls to pick its new government.  At no point have young people been so detatched from the process.  Fewer young people than ever voted at the last election in 2015.

What that means for young people is that every political party will only care about those groups in society that will make a difference to their chances of electoral success. So none of the issues that affect young people will be top of their list because as a group they're simply not seen to make a difference.  You can only change that by encouraging young people to vote so politicians finally realise that young peoples votes can help them win their seat or make sure that they lose.

If you don't think politics applies to you well think again.  Are you looking for a job? Do you live on benefits? Do you want to go to college? Do you want to access the NHS?  Do you have children?  Every part of your life is influenced by politics and so if you want to have your say, then vote.  It is the only way that you can make a real and lasting difference.

You've only got until 11.59pm on 22nd May to register but you can do it online at

Come along to our Newton Abbot YES centre where we have computers and laptops and can help you to register to vote if you need support. We're open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 1pm - 5pm.
