Help Yourself to the Summer of a Lifetime – National Citizen Service South West 2012

Want some new challenges, learn new skills, improve their local communities and shape their futures this summer? And all of this whilst helping to create a positive perception of young people.  Then sign up for the National Citizen Service (NCS) and have yourself a summer to remember!

NCS is a Big Society initiative, supporting young people from all backgrounds to work together, take on new challenges and make a difference.  Young Devon worked with hundreds of young people as lead partner of the NCS South West consortium, one of the major delivery consortia in the region, last year, every participant having a tangible positive impact on their area.  Now in its second year NCS South West is bigger and better, offering even more Year 11 students the chance to develop their own positive social action project delivered for, with and in their local communities.

By raising just £50 in sponsorship, each young person who signs up for NCS South West with Young Devon will be able to look forward to a week-long outdoor activity residential, followed by a second week developing and delivering their project with their local communities whilst working closely with businesses, councils and charities.
