Payroll Giving

You can make a regular donation to Young Devon in a simple tax efficient way through Payroll Giving provided of course that your employer offers a Payroll Giving scheme; if not encourage them to set one up.

All you need to do is to authorise your employer to deduct regular charitable donations from your pay. Your employer will then pay those deductions to a Payroll Giving Agency approved by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) who then distributes the money to the charity or charities of your choice.

The Benefits of Payroll Giving

The agreed regular deductions your employer makes from your pay are before you pay tax, which means that you get tax relief included in your donation at your top rate of tax.  For example, if you pay tax at the basic rate of 20%, it would only cost you £8 to make a £10 donation to Young Devon.

Young Devon benefits from receiving a regular flow of income, which allows us to plan our charitable activities with confidence.

How to find out if your employer offers payroll giving

Ask your HR department if they offer a Payroll Giving scheme.  If not, suggest that they start one - it is easy and inexpensive to run. They can find out more about how to get started in the HMRC Guidance for employers.

How do I know if I am eligible to join the scheme?

You will be eligible provided that you are an employee or pensioner and that your employer deducts PAYE tax from your pay or pension.

For more information phone us on 01752 691511, or visit HM Revenue and Customs website.

Young Devon on Film

  •  A short story about a girl who followed the Children & Young Peoples Services route. She decided to be accommodated through a host family (SLS) but this is not the only option that is available if you decide to follow the Children & Young Peoples Services route.
