Youth clubs help reduce young people’s chances of developing mental health issues

For the last three years Clubs for Young People has been looking at the role of youth clubs in helping young people's mental health and wellbeing, and what can be done to improve support. Somewhere to talk...Someone to listen, funded by The Waterloo Foundation and led by Young Devon, found that youth clubs are well placed to support young people's mental health through the activities, relationships and signposting opportunities that they provide.

An article from yesterday's Observer claims that leaked document says funding in affluent parts of Britain has been largely untouched. Charities working in the most deprived areas of the country, particularly in the fields of training and education, are being hit hardest by government spending cuts, according to a leaked document that has been circulated to ministers.
