Changing the odds in favour of young people

Established in 1949, Young Devon is a progressive charity that exists to "change the odds in favour of young people". Challenging negative stereotypes and campaigning shoulder-to-shoulder with young people, Young Devon's primary objective is to enhance lives and promote opportunity for those least likely to have their voices heard.

vision, mission & values

Young Devon's purpose is 'Changing the odds in favour of Young People'. The organisation wants to facilitate every young person to grow as an individual valued by themselves, by others and by society.Young Devon has recently revised its values through feedback received from Trustees, staff at all levels of the organisation and young people.

Our trustees

As a registered charity we are governed by a Board of 10 Trustees. They have ultimate responsibility for our work and together with the workforce and young people set our strategic direction. In practice this means that they are there to scrutinise our work; ensure that we remain true to our charitable objectives and work to keep our focus on developing services that really make a difference. To further this we are really fortunate to also have YPoD – Young People of Devon working alongside our Board.
